FIFTH PIPE DREAM – VARIOUS ARTISTS LP (SAN FRANCISCO SOUNDS S7-11680) (1968) (B&W COVER) (VG++/VG)

·      BAND: US Psych- Rock Bands from San Francisco, CA circa 67/69.  All bands on this compilation were under production management from Matthew Katz. It’s A Beautiful Day, Tripsichord Music Box, Indian Puddin & Pipe and Black Swan.

·      TOTAL OUTPUT: One LP (November 1968).

·      PRESSING: First US Pressing, Monarch, 1968.

·      LABEL: San Francisco Sounds (Red with black lettering) (SAN FRANCISCO SOUNDS S7-11680)  

·      MATRIX RUNOUT NUMBERS (Etched):  A: (S-7A △11680) B: (S-7A △11680-X)

·      CONDITION: FRONT COVER: VG (Minor ring-wear. Top seam has heavy wear and a 4 inch split on the right corner.  Bottom seam has moderate wear and a 2 inch split in the center. Spine has moderate wear with minor impact to the lettering.  Bottom corner has ¼ inch heavy wear.

·      CONDITION: BACK COVER: VG (Same as front cover.)

·      CONDITION: DUST JACKET SLEEVE: Generic.

·      CONDITION: VINYL: Plays with minimal surface noise on quiet passages and has overall audio grade of VG+/VG++. (NOTE: There are a few visible scuffs on one side that do not impact play.)

NOTE: My LP’s are visually graded with the exception of two sound samples from the first songs on each side which can be heard with the links provided below.

GRADING SCALE:

NM/M: Played once or twice. No visible surface or playback wear.

EX: Has been played but has no scratches, minimal to no wear and plays without surface noise.

EX- Plays without surface noise, but might have a few visible minor scratches.

VG++: May have a few surface scratches or a little wear, but plays nicely with only minimal surface noise and clicks.

VG+: "Typical used record".  A little wear, a few minor (light) scratches, but plays well. Surface noise may be more present during soft passages. No Skips

VG: More wear and significant surface noise. Deeper scratches. May have a skip.

G: Significant surface noise and scratches and visible groove wear. (Beat up record!) May have skips.

(All LP’s are visually-graded with sound samples being provided for the first song on each side.)
