October 11, 1965 was a “Green Letter Day” for The Beatles. On that day, Capitol Records released six 45s under their Star Line label (sometimes spelled as one word so I use both here). 

Today, these green swirl discs are among the most valuable in the group’s historic catalog.

Why does “Love Me Do” typically fetch the highest prices of all six Starline 45s? I’ll leave that up to you, but this particular disc is a STUNNER! It could not have been played much—the sound on both sides is like you just brought it home from the record store! Not a pop or scratch, and of course, no skips.

The label has the RARER AND MORE VALUABLE EAST COAST THIN PRINT from the Scranton PA plant. Even the perimeter print is incredibly clear. The only flaw is a smudge near the top of A-Side, which quite possibly can be cleaned up.

The ORIGINAL COMPANY SLEEVE features all 6 Beatles listings on the back (not all of them do). No tears, no marks, no labels!
