ITEM DESCRIPTION:
This beautiful LP from His Master’s Voice (ASD 426, English EMI pressing, cream/gold label – ED1, stereo, laminated flipback jacket, original inner sleeve included) features Rudolf Kempe’s magnificent rendition of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 in E-flat Major Op. 55 “Eroica”, recorded with the mighty Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra at Grunewaldkirche, Charlottenberg, Berlin on 3 September 1959, first published on LP the following year.
Incidentally, there are fine liner notes on the reverse side of the jacket by J. Mc Kay Martin, printed in English only.
CONDITION – PLEASE READ VERY CAREFULLY:
The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
The condition of the jacket is EXCELLENT. There is a bit of edgewear along the open edge of the jacket, as well as the corners, but that is all. There are no seamsplits, bends, owners’ markings, or other defects, and the album remains solid, bright, glossy, and very attractive – overall, a very good collector's copy.
The condition of the LP itself is VERY GOOD. In Mvts I and III, the condition is EX. In Mvt II and IV, however, the grading falls to VG-, with a few tics in II (nothing repetitive), but mostly some needle-like sounds. Thus, if you must have flawless or NM surfaces, then please do not buy this LP – overall, this rates as a very good collector’s copy.
PLEASE NOTE:
All LPs are provided with a new Nagaoka (or Nagaoka-style) inner sleeve. The images I've provided are of the actual item you are potentially bidding on - these are not stock images or images I've taken from other sites. Bid with confidence!
