This is a beautiful copy of the first single by The Beach Boys: "Surfin" b/w "Luau" (X 301). Released in 1961.
This was the group's very first single, and this issue is the second of several (the first reissue). Candix 331 came first and was followed by X 301, then three versions of Candix 301 (an audition copy, stock copy, and stock copy with Dist. by ERA Records").
A side written by Brian Wilson and Mike Love. B side credited to Bruce Morgan, son of Hite Morgan and Dorinda Morgan, who produced these sessions. Though I believe Dorinda wrote "Luau."
Better than EX condition. Comes in a plain white sleeve.
The record is about as close to NM as I've seen. This is a very beautiful copy. No writing or tears. Just some very minor wear and a sticker on the A side label. Vinyl has retained its full gloss. A well taken care of record, given that it is almost 60 years old.
Thanks for looking, and please check out my for more rare and beautiful 45s. I specialize in rare surf, Beach Boys, and Brian Wilson-related items.
