ORDNANCE SURVEY – Field Work LP – Limited Edition Black Vinyl

In the midst of the pandemic, Field Work was assembled, mostly at the home of Neil ‘O Connor in Drumcondra, Dublin. While both Relative Phase and Ampere were recorded in studios with collaborators, none such options were available this time around. Field Work was born out of the use of field recordings made in and around Dublin. Further material included clips from the television archives, the Dart, Bicycles and vocal samples from 40 years ago in Co. Kerry.

Produced, recorded and mixed by Neil O’Connor between January 2020 and March 2021 at the National Concert Hall Studios, at home and on location on the streets of Dublin.

Instruments: Piano, Bass, Drums, Moog Opus Three, Moog Voyager, Make Noise Shared System Modular Synthesizer, Korg Monopoly, Roland Juno, Sequential Circuits Pro-One, Revox A77 Reel to Reel, Tascam Model 80 Multitrack Reel to Reel, Sony TC-40 Tape Recorder, Max/MSP, Shakers, Bells, Tambourine, Bongos.

Collaborators:
Vocal recordings made in the Seaview Hotel, Ballylicky in 1951, RTE Archives
VHS Tape Machine, Irish Rail and DART, La Pierre Racing Bike, FM Radio, WNYC Public Radio, Morse Code.
