I am slowly disposing my personal collection of classical records, and this is a very nice early HMV stereophonic recording as follows:
Conductor : Georges Prêtre
Orchestra: Philharmonia Orchestra
Title : Shostakovitch Symphony No 12 opus 112; Festival Overture opus 96.
Label : HMV ASD 559
The vinyl is in excellent condition; the record has been very carefully played by myself since adding it to my collection many decades ago, always using high quality equipment. I have just played the record right through again I can confirm that it plays very well, with the excellent lush sound quality that is typical of early HMV's. Also, for an early stereo, the soundstage is very pleasing. The vinyl is nice and flat and the sleeve is in generally good condition, although the edges and corners show some wear, there are a couple of catalogue label marks, and the music timings have been written on the reverse.
