The Beatles ‘Revolver’. Parlophone 1966 PMC 7009.

For auction is a super condition original 1st U.K. mono press of The Beatles iconic album ‘Revolver’.

This is the famous, but hard to find (especially in this condition) original ‘Withdrawn mix’. Side 2 has the matrix XEX 606-1, which denotes this is the withdrawn version with a different take of the track Tomorrow Never Knows. Apparently John Lennon did not want this take to be used, but the first pressed copies were accidentally made from that version. This was soon corrected by Parlophone and the vast majority of first issue copies, and every other issue afterwards, had the corrected version.

The original Flip back sleeve in truly excellent condition with no writing, marks or tears. All edges fully intact. Has the ‘Dr. Robert’ misprint for side two track details.

Original inner sleeve - Parlophone using the Emitex inners from Revolver - in excellent condition.

The record sits perfectly flat on the turntable.

Side 1. Label very clean with only minor spindle marks. No writing.

XEX 605-2 matrix. 1GM stamper. Visually and sonically this side is at least excellent. Hardly a mark to be seen and no clicks, pops, ticks, sticks, skips or jumps on playback. Only very occasional very light crackles between some tracks.

Side 2. Label as good as side 1. XEX 606-1 matrix. 2GR stamper. KT tax code.

Visually between EX + to m- as superficial light markings visible in bright light. Sonically plays as well as side 1, with only occasional very light crackles, mainly between tracks.

All in all a superb condition copy of a Beatles rarity.
