'The Planets' by Gustav Holst (b.1874 - d.1934) is one of the most popular series of compositions in modern classical music. It really has everything you want in a thematic and conceptual work.....intensely rich dramatic melodies....unusual orchestral rhythms .....quiet, almost whisper-like choral segments,  suggestive of mystical and spiritual leanings which Holst took a great interest in later in his life.
On offer is a performance of 'The Planets' by the LPO conducted by Sir Georg Solti in 1978. It is my personal favorite out of the hundreds of versions on record, tape, and CD that I've heard.  Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab released 2 versions of this highly regarded performance on record....the regular half-speed mastered issue (MFSL 1-510) and the more elaborate and highly detailed UHQR pressing (MFQR 1-510) in 1982.  They both sound wonderful BUT.... the UHQR pressing is on another level and simply spectacular in every way.
NB.  This UHQR record comes ONLY in a plain white generic cardboard sleeve. The record is placed inside an audiophile (rice-paper) inner-sleeve.  Both sleeve and record are Near Mint ....the record truly looks unplayed.
