Peter Llyich Tchaikovsky's Suite No. 3 in G Major, Op 55 was composed in 1884, the year of his Manfred Symphony. A great deal is known of the history of this Suite, since Tchaikovsky worked in it during several weeks at Kamenka in the spring of 1884, during which time he kept an accurate day-by-day diary.
Having completed his Suite No. 3, Tchaikovsky was uncharacteristically enthusiastic.
