The Transcendental Waterfall: Guitar Excursions 1962-1967 compiles in one box set the following six John Fahey albums: Blind Joe Death Death Chants, Breakdowns and Military Waltzes Dance of Death & Other Plantation Favorites The Great San Bernardino Birthday Party and Other Excursions The Transfiguration of Blind Joe Death Days Have Gone By The outer box has some shelf wear along its edges and on the "bottom" face of the lid. In addition, one of the short seams on the lid has begun to separate a bit (hence the VG+ rating). Surface scuffing of the heavyweight vinyl is noticeable in bright side light, but this visual imperfection has no effect on the sound quality of the records. As for the individual album covers, they are all in beautiful near-mint condition. Each album includes anywhere from a 2- to 32-page booklet of "notes," some with illustrations, some without. (The word "notes" is used very loosely, and if you know Fahey's work, both musical and literary, you probably know what I mean.) The box also comes with a record-size insert of "John Fahey Talking Blues" by Samuel Charters; a 4x6 black-and-white photo of Fahey; a 6-panel, 3-color poster of photos of Fahey; and a large-size black t-shirt with "John Fahey" written in blue letters across the front (never worn, never washed, of course).
