I Care About Vinyl
I do clean my records on a machine I designed and built myself. Even though these records look very clean, I believe that all records need to be deep-cleaned at least twice, especially older LP's. I will leave it up to the buyer to use their own method and machine to do the final deep clean these records.
I use a strong halogen side light sometimes looking at small marks with a strong hand-held lens inspect them before assigning a visual grade.
Professor Longhair and his Blues Scholars "In The Night b/w Tipitina"
Very good original 1953 10" 78 rpm shellac disc of this Atlantic (#1020) 50's Blues/R&B release release.
VG+/VG+ visual condition on sides 1 and 2 respectively. The VJM 78 rpm grading system would classify this as an VG+/VG+. Each side still has some gloss- side 1 is slightly grayed and side 2 is slightly shinier. Side 1 has just a few very faint hard-to-see marks. Side 2 has one lighter scuff line and a few faint marks. No cracks or chips. No spindle trails on the labels. Well-cleaned and vacuumed with my VPI record cleaner. Hard-to-find on 10" 78 rpm. Offered in a fresh new paper jacket.
No play grade on this as it is a 78 rpm cut and I am not set up to play this.
