Per Wikipedia, Purple Rain is the sixth album by Prince. It was released in June, 1984, by Warner Brothers Records. as the soundtrack album to the 1984 film of the same name. Purple Rain became Prince's first album to reach number one on the . The album spent 24 consecutive weeks atop on the Billboard 200 and was present on the chart for a total of 167 weeks. The record up for bid is a 1984 club edition under license from WB Records and manufactured by Columbia Records' Carrollton pressing facility. It consists of 9 tracks with a run time of 43+ minutes. It contains 4 track singles, "When Doves Cry" and "Let's Go Crazy" that reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100, while "Purple Rain" peaked at number two and "I Would Die 4 U" peaked at number eight. The album was certified by the RIAA.
The cover is in VG+ condition. There is slight wear on the corners, but there are no bent corners and the edges show no significant wear. There are no split seams or tears and no markings on the glossy front and back corners. The color is bright and there is only a hint of disk wear on the front cover (see photos).
The inner sleeve is original and contains track listings with production information. The thin paper sleeve does have two split seams and I have enclosed the recording in a new heavy paper sleeve for additional protection. The original sleeve will be included in shipment.
The recording has been cleaned and tested with Audacity. All the tracks were played through and all tracks were free of skips and there was little to no background noise. The sound is crisp and very clear. The record surfaces show no sign of scratches or scuffs and very mild wear. The labels are clean and intact. This is a VG+ recording and will satisfy even the most descriminating listener. I hope you enjoy this recording, as much as I do.
