Per Wikipedia, In the Dark is the twelfth  by the . It was recorded in January 1987, and released in July, 1987.  In the Dark was the band's first album in six years, and its first studio album since 1980's . It became unexpectedly popular, achieving  in the U.S. It reached No. 6 on the  chart, the Grateful Dead's only top ten album. The peppy "" peaked at No. 9 on the , the band's only top forty single; it also became a frequently played music video on MTV.  The album up for bid is a 1987 release by Arista Records under license to Columbia Records as a Club Edition and was manufactured at Columbia Record's Carrollton, Ga. pressing facility.  It consists of 7 tracks with a run time of 40+ minutes.

The cover is in VG/EX condition, as if it just left the record store (minus the shrink wrap).  There is very little to complain about the cover.  No split seams, nice edges and corners, and no disc wear on the covers.  The covers are shiny and graphics and artwork are without fault.  The interior covers of this gatefold album contain nice photos of the group and the interiors are  pristine.

The paper inner sleeve is original and is intact.  One side of the sleeve has a nice B&W photo of the guys and the other side shows track listings and production information.

The recording has been cleaned and tested using Audacity.  All tracks played through without any skips.  There is very little background noise, although on testing I noticed a couple of mild "clicks" that are random in nature.  The record surfaces show no evidence of wear.  I am the original owner of this recording and this recording has had very limited play (less than 5 plays).  There are no signs of scratches or scuffs on the record surfaces.  The sound is clean and crisp and all labels are clean and intact.

I always clean, listen and test every record I list on EBAY. I do this in insure that I can give as accurate a description for each album I list. I also try to follow the Goldmine standards on grading records. I do this as a service to the buyer, as well as, to maintain my own reputation.
