Welcome to Rock2FunkYourSoul's Rare Vinyl Auction! 150 records with particular focus this week on: Rock, Country, Folk, Psych, Bluegrass, Prog, Experimental, spanning mainly from the 1960's, 70's, and 80's! All pressings are original, I do not sell bootlegs, or reissues :) *If you want to combine shipping from soon to end items, and any item out of this auction, just send me message, it's no problem!
Side A: The Ballad of The National Guard (no time given)
Side B: Child of The Devil (no time given)
Vinyl Condition: VG+/EX (A/B side respectively, the A-Side under bright light has sleeve scuffs, spindle marks that are DNAP, B-side under bright light has tiny paper scuffs DNAP, plays beautifully!) Cover Condition: generic paper, will include plastic sleeve! Year of Release: 1965 (based on the catalogue #, this isn't even on Discogs, but I was able to pinpoint the year!) Record Label / Catalogue #: Century Records 24501 Additional Attributes: private press Commentary (Something like the Beatles, Rush, etc. speak for themselves! This is a space for more obscure items, to provide a loving collector's notes, no dealer hype, just because a Xian private press has 5 seconds of fuzz guitar for example doesn't make it a psych grail out of acid archives or Pokora!) Review: Private moody brooding 1965 New England Garage rock, Century had locations around the U.S., and this one is out of the Summit, Massachusetts location.
The A-Side is kind of a tongue in cheek ironic garage rock ballad, but it's the B-Side "Child of The Devil" which is wild psychotic garage, it's the track basically one buys this for (the A-Side is cool, but the B-side is killer, no pun intended!).
Both are originals written by band leader C.C. Hewitt.
(This is the only known copy, as the person who bought the copy the first time it came up traded with me. He said the guy he got it from on eBay admittedly wasn't a record guy, and just threw out "vg" as the grade, he had an old needle, rig for the clip. So it was much better than listed in that one!)
One that seems like it won't show up again. A 45 with a title like "child of the devil" in 1965 New England, custom pressed? I can't imagine many survived, and given this is the only known copy so far, (C.C. Hewitt when I contacted him a few years back, had no copy, and was surprised to find out this still existed, it was a teenage rebellion musicians thing!)
My grading system comes from being a longtime collector myself, meaning conservative grading, and transparency :). NM EX VG+ VG VG- G+
Some terminology abbreviations: *DNAP = Does Not Affect Play *OIS = Original Inner Sleeve *WLP = White Label Promo
If a record is sealed, I will state "sealed" and presumed "mint", making sure it is flat, and such. Should a buyer win a sealed item, I am happy to unseal it for them upon request.
Packing is done using LP mailers, record outside of jacket in polysleeve. All records that reach $30+ in final bidding will have a MoFi or similar high quality inner sleeve along with OIS (If OIS is applicable!)
I have been collecting for about 20 years, and integrity is important to me; I want you to be proud and happy with your purchase, satisfied with accurate grading, and knowing you can have confidence in the record when bidding and purchasing.
At Rock2FunkYourJazzSoul we hope to have the honor of your business, and repeat business if another desired item comes up :)
Although the idea, practices is to absolutely avoid this for your satisfaction, if it happens, returns are accepted, money back, and for domestic purchasers in the US, the return shipping is on us. Everything possible is done to instead have an item you're completely satisfied with, but apart of integrity is standing by the customer, you.
Please feel free to message with any questions, comments, concerns, and I will be happy to return a thorough, comprehensive response :)
*NOTE: PLEASE ALLOW FOR 5 DAY HANDLING TIME, I WILL ALWAYS INCLUDE TRACKING #*
If You Win Multiple Items Please Wait For My Invoice As I Will Combine Shipping To Be The Lowest Possible Cost For You :)
*NOTE ON CURRENT FEEDBACK: I have 1 negative feedback from a "buy it now" rare first edition book, from a partial refund troll, who refused full refund because they didn't want to return a book they admitted in the messaging was a great deal. eBay is currently adjudicating the matter, otherwise I have only positive feedback, check the one's left from my last vinyl sales for a good idea :)* - It's sad that this has happened, between Discogs, eBay, and selling at record conventions, I've never encountered this before. As someone who values integrity, I believe 99.9% of people are great, and will do good by others.
