ARCHIE SHEPP Fire music US IMPULSE LP FREE JAZZ POST BOP
FROM THE JAMES CHANCE COLLECTION
Originally recorded and released in 1965. This appears to be the 1972 Impulse! / ABC Records Reissue with the white sidebar.
Great post-bop avant-garde jazz compositions in the Mingus big band tradition. Features Marion Brown on alto sax. Very listenable.  The disk and record cover are both in VG+ condition. The record plays well, and the cover has only slight ring wear.
James Chance was the noted saxophone player, composer, and singer in the No Wave, funk, and jazz idioms. His bands The Contortions, James White and the Blacks, The Flaming Demonics, and Terminal City were groundbreaking fusions of funk, punk, and jazz. My name is David Siegfried, brother to James, and I can attest these items to be true and authentic.
James was an avid record collector and owned this album. This is an opportunity to have your own keepsake from James's personal collection. If you are interested in other items owned by James, please see my other listings.
