Offering is original owner’s 1st Pressing / 1st Edition (1959), "The Buddy Holly Story", Coral Records CRL 57279, 12”, “Long Play” LP, 33-1/3 RPM monaural (“mono”) black vinyl record. Specific descriptions:

 

·        Album Cover / Sleeve – CONDITION: GOOD. The red and black ink front and back covers have retained nearly all of the their original colors. The full size, B&W photo of Buddy Holly shows no fading, discolorations and remains glossy. Neither the front nor back have any owner markings. The back cover shows age toning and has 7-8 brown staining areas. There is a 7” seam split along the top and 2.75” seam split in the middle of the bottom. There are no seam splits along the spine. (See photos no. 11-17).

 

·        Vinyl – CONDITION: VG. Its vinyl playing surfaces are clean and bright with minimal light hairlines and scuffs and no scratches. Vinyl has a nice gloss. The maroon and silver “Long Play” labels are in very good condition with minimal spindle wear and no discolorations.

 

·        The top of the album’s back cover shows the upside-down typo “THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY / CRL 57279. See photos no. 3 & 4.

 

·        From Discogs.com, the Matrix / Runout (Side B Label) MG 6951 with

the “"◆" symbol (“MG 6951♦”) indicates that this album was produced at the Decca Records Pressing Plant, Pinckneyville. Coral Records, Inc. was a subsidiary of Decca Records. See photographs no. 8 & 9.

Purchased in 1959 at The House of Music, New Rochelle, NY (see photo no. 10). Always stored upright, kept in dry, non-smoking homes.
