Offering is original owner’s RCA VICTOR LSP-2426, 1ST Stereo Pressing (Rockaway – Released 10/1961), “Living Stereo” series album “Blue Hawaii”, 33-1/3 RPM LP black vinyl record with rare, silver “RCA Victor Records”, non-promotional, paper inner sleeve. Descriptions are as follows:
· Album Cover – CONDITION: VERY GOOD+. Both front cover and back covers have retained their original rich colors with a nice glossy finish. The full-size color photo of Elvis (front cover) and the four (4) color photos on back cover show no fading, stains, or discolorations. The front cover has no markings. The back cover has vendor “New Rochelle House of Music” very faint ink stamp at lower left corner (see photo no. 2). The spine and three (3) other cover edges are “like new” with no splits, tears, scruffs or aging marks.
· Vinyl – CONDITION: VERY GOOD +. The vinyl record’s playing surfaces are very clean and bright. There are light hairline / non-feelable surface marks on both sides. There are no scuffs or feelable scratches. The vinyl has a rich, attractive gloss. The vintage black and silver RCA logo labels are in VG+ condition with minimal spindle wear, no stains or discolorations. Side 2 has a 1/4” horizontal scratch beneath “BLUE” (see photos nos. 13-14).
· Original & Rare “RCA Victor Records” plain, non-promotional inner silver / light gray paper sleeve. This vintage, very collectible 12” x 12” sleeve is in VERY GOOD + CONDITION. Its silver /light gray paper with blue lettering has remained rich, clear and clean. It has no stains, markings, tears or creases.
· Specific Identifiers:
(1) This is an original 1961 Stereo First Pressing (Rockaway Plant) with “Living Stereo” on the black & silver labels as well as on the front of the album cover (top right), being further proof indicators.
(2) Cover Front - Catalog number is on the left, upper corner. and the RCA Victor dog gramophone logo is at the top right corner. Copyright “©RCA - Printed in U.S.A.”, located at the extreme, lower left corner.
(3) Cover Back: Catalog number “LPM/LSP-2426” at upper right corner
(4) Disc: Stereo, black label, RCA logo is silver, “LIVING STEREO” at bottom. Elvis Presley is in small font on bottom. “Stereo Orthophonic” High Fidelity” is shown on the labels’ right sides. Side 1, the Jordanaires are credited for 1, 3-7. On Side 2, the Jordanaires are credited for 1-5,7

Beginning in 1953, RCA Victor made a substantial body of recordings which have become to be identified with their early stereo release label, Living Stereo. Most of the records issued, particularly classical music, offer music, performances and audio quality which have become to be considered definitive. Living Stereo influenced many recordings that followed with their recording and marketing philosophies.
Purchased in Fall 1962 at The House of Music, New Rochelle, NY. Always stored upright, kept in dry, non-smoking homes. Please review the twenty-four (24) photographs to assist in your assessment of the items’ condition. The photographs are an integral part of the descriptions used for the album cover, vinyl record and silver paper inner sleeve.
