Héctor Lavoe’s Comedia (1978) is a classic album in the history of salsa
music, showcasing the vocal prowess and emotional depth of Héctor Lavoe,
one of salsa’s most iconic singers. Known as "El Cantante de los
Cantantes" ("The Singer of Singers"), Lavoe was renowned for his
incredible voice, his charisma, and his ability to infuse his
performances with both joy and melancholy. Comedia is a significant
entry in his solo career, produced by Willie Colón, with whom Lavoe had
a long and successful collaborative relationship.
