Government Issue: You, Vinyl 12-inch LP, Giant Records, 1987
1987 LP by Washington DC hardcore/grunge band Government Issue. The matrix run-outs indicate that this item is the original 1987 US issue on Giant Records, complete with lyric sheet insert. Please look at my other items and please note that I offer a good postage discount on multiple purchases.
Catalogue number HH6100-1. 33 rpm. Pictorial colour card outer sleeve; plain white paper inner sleeve, die-cut on both sides to show labels. Lyric sheet insert with band photos, credits etc. Disc matrix/run-outs: Side 1: (etched) S-18707 1-1 (unidentifiable symbol) HH-61001 A What are Happy Children? Cg; Side 2: (etched) S-18108 HH-61001 B 1-1 (unidentifiable symbol) Unhappy Children Having Fun.
See photos for track-listing.
Condition:
Card outer sleeve: Excellent+ condition overall, absolutely minimal edge and surface wear, top right corner is somewhat warped (could probably be flattened out), handful of tiny dinks on the covers.
Inner sleeve: Excellent condition, some very light rumpling, very light impression of the vinyl disc evident and some age-related browning.
Lyric insert: Pristine condition, clean, uncreased.
Vinyl: Excellent+, if not better, condition, a few very light surface ‘scuffs’ but turntable play test reveals these appear to be entirely cosmetic - the album will have been played once or twice at most – see Ts&Cs. Labels look immaculate, with no spindle drag marks or wear to inner edge of hole.
Seller’s Terms & Conditions
My items
All the vinyl records which I have up for auction are my own personal possessions - I am selling to free up space. Unless stated, all the records were purchased new, most were taped shortly after purchase so one or two plays at most and the vinyl has been in storage since.
Condition assessment/‘grading’
All items have been visually assessed for condition under good lighting. Any specific possible issue will be checked by a limited ‘play test’ on a turntable. Please note though that most of the discs were taped shortly after purchase and the vinyl has been in storage since. So, none of the vinyl has been played at all since c.1990, unless I mention an aforementioned ‘play test’ to check on a specific condition issue for this auction.
In my item description, I am not using any of the formal grading systems vinyl dealer’s use, I’m using my own judgement. In addition to my description, I would strongly urge potential buyers to study the photographs carefully - as these form an essential part of the condition report. All the photos were taken by me and are of the actual item - none are stock photos. Please look at my feedback for vinyl sales!
Matrix/run-out details
Sometimes I haven’t included alphanumeric matrix information from the run-out/‘dead wax’, though I appreciate that collectors may need exact details of matrix ‘variants’, so if further information or clarification is needed please message me through ebay and I will do what I can to provide what you need.
P&P charges (UK buyers):
P&P charge is £4.95 for Royal Mail’s standard ‘Tracked 48’ service. For an additional 70p per item, I can send up to four LPs in a mailer (NB double albums count as two LPs). For multiple purchases please await an invoice from me before paying, it makes the admin easier, thanks.
If buyers want any other service, such as ‘signed for’, please contact me before auction end to agree costs.
Overseas buyers:
ebay will use their Global Shipping Programme, so I have no control over costs above and beyond my stated P&P charge. Please be aware that exports outside of the UK may incur local Tax and Duty, so please check with your local Customs Office and I do not accept any responsibility for any such charges.
Payment method/payment timescale:
PAYPAL preferred but any electronic payment method which ebay accepts is OK. Please ensure your details are up to date. I accept no responsibility if the buyer’s delivery address is not up to date and will not issue a refund in such a case.
I would very much appreciate prompt payment by successful buyers, preferably as soon as possible after the end of the auction please. However, I am happy to wait if a buyer wants to try and win a few items in order to combine them in one parcel (and gain a postage discount) – simply communicate with me through ebay if this is the case.
Cleaning & Packaging:
All vinyl has been carefully wiped with an anti-static cloth lightly sprayed with Spincare ‘record cleaner for vinyl records’. Items will be robustly packaged to avoid damage in shipping. Each vinyl disc will be inside a brand new, good quality anti-static poly inner sleeve, rather than being inside the original inner sleeve and cover, this to avoid seam splits in transit. The disc - inside its new poly inner sleeve - will be separated from its original inner sleeve and its original outer cover and all will be inside a brand new polythene outer record 'sleeve'. This will then be inside a brand new good quality (corrugated/double wall) cardboard vinyl mailer. The mailer will be also packed with at least one brand new good quality (corrugated/double wall) card stiffener to provide extra protection.
