The sound is great. Better than my original cd.
ReplyHelpful  May 6, 2023 Edited one year ago I still think this remaster on vinyl sounds excellent! Lovely pressing too. Made three rips from this record. You can find them on the right side in the videos section:
Def Leppard - Hysteria (2017 European Vinyl)
Def Leppard - Love And Affection (Hysteria) (2017 European Vinyl)
Def Leppard - Gods Of War (Hysteria) (2017 European Vinyl) Reply1 Helpful  Apr 29, 2023 Edited one year ago Finally got around to buying this new pressing and it leaves the 1987 record for dead, the people that have complained that it’s not as good as the original need to take a look at there setup on the turntable because mine sounds absolutely fantastic. Don’t bother hunting down the original pressing I compared both and this 2017 release is by far a more sonic sounding version of this album ReplySee 3 replies3 Helpful  Apr 15, 2023 It’s OK - but I much prefer my OG ‘87 US pressing ReplySee 1 reply1 Helpful  Apr 11, 2023 Edited 8 months ago I’ve got the OG Hysteria CD and it only took me 30 years to get it on vinyl! But I was glad to finally have it in my record collection! The LPs were quiet and spun relatively flat. The Gatefold jacket, artwork and liners were all well made too. But unfortunately, that’s the good part. Sonically, It’s cut hot and plays loud but with limited dynamic range (lots of compression) therefore it won’t be to everyone’s taste. I did notice distortion, mainly sibilance on the “S” consonant on vocals and on cymbal accents in the mid/upper treble region. That’s mastering and cutting issues. It’s definitely better suited for warm sounding systems. I can live with it, but the OG CD is much better sounding TBH so I’m somewhat disappointed by this pressing. Reply1 Helpful  Feb 8, 2023 I have what appears to be the 2017 pressing according to the catalogue number on the cover and Vinyls, but the matrix on the runout grooves is 01036284, this pressing doesn't seem to be listed on Discogs.

Is this a more recent pressing than the 2017 edition? ReplyHelpful  Jan 14, 2023 This album sounds amazing and well worth the price. For those who say otherwise, I would encourage you to check your system. ReplySee 1 reply1 Helpful  Oct 13, 2022 One of the worst if not the worst quality record in my collection. Don't waste time and money, much cheaper used reissues way better. Either QC issues or the utter disregard for the job that needs to be done for cutting and mastering. The distortion, sybilance, everything that other guys mentioned. Piece of shit from the get go and it gets worse with every inch closer to the center.. Really. ReplyHelpful  Feb 1, 2022 I finally decided on buying this pressing over one that’s a single record that has its own issues because of that. These 2LP’s sound great for 80’s hair band rock-n-roll!! So many of these hair bands music in the 80’s and 90’s were recorded/mixed a bit hot especially in the highs. I’m running Klipsch RP-280F’s that have their famous Hybrid Tractrix® Horn and I don’t find the highs fatiguing or distorting at high volume much at all. It is what it is, hair band rock. Buy with confidence as this one is a winner. ReplySee 2 replies2 Helpful  Dec 6, 2021 Just got this at a great price. I have to say its a loud mix. Meaning you can't really push the volume. I have it on cd and that you can turn loud and it sounds great. Whereas this remastered version does sound as though it's going to distort the more you push it, making it an unpleasant listen. The guitars seem to get louder and start to drown out the vocals. At the right level it's a very nice listen. I used to have the original vinyl release but not anymore. Once I find it at a decent price I'll compare. It also seems a little fast. I'll have to triple check the speed. ReplySee 1 replyHelpful Load More Reviews Release  [r10659346]
