Beyond The Implode - 'Last Thoughts' EP (7" Single)
Rare, Original, DIY Punk Single - number 47 of only 250 pressed
***

'Beyond The Implode' was a late 1970's - early 1980's punk group from Runcorn (near Liverpool).  'Last Thoughts' was the first of their singles, recorded between April and June 1979.  Only 250 were made - each one individually numbered:  the record for sale is number 47 (0047) and is in its original sleeve, which was hand-made and photocopied for all 250 singles produced.  The sleeve (outer cover) shows some discolouration due to age (it's almost 35 years old now) and, on the back of the cover, there are a couple of small marks that look a little like tea-stains!  The singles were sold through 'Rough Trade' records in London and through the iconic Probe Records in Matthew Street, Liverpool.  At the time of its release, it was reviewed by several music papers of that time - including 'NME' and 'Smash Hits'.  It was often played by the late John Peel on his BBC radio show (which came as a very pleasant surprise to the band members!)

I was a later member of Beyond The Implode and I am selling this rare single on behalf of one of the members of the group, Keith Discreet, who played bass guitar on the later '11th Hour Breakdown' record (which I will be listing separately).

The 'Last Thoughts' record for sale is 100% authentic and original - it is NOT a copy.

There are not many of these original records in existence now so this is an extremely rare opportunity to purchase an item of original DIY punk from that exciting and ground-breaking music era.  Any creditable music collector will confirm the current market value of these original Beyond The Implode recordings, due to their rarity and the infrequency that they come up for sale (if ever).

The record for sale is in pristine condition.  The master etching marks on the vinyl state "DIVE+101+A" on the A-side and "DIVE+101+B" on the B-side, with the centre of the record (white) hand-stamped in red with 'DIVERSE RECORDS'  and, on the A-side, "1".

The record's inner cover is plain white but obviously a little discoloured due to its age, as with the outer sleeve.

The sleeve was autographed in 1979 by Eddie Smith (Eddie Cameron), song-writer, vocalist and co-founder of the group, who sadly passed away in December 2013.  It is also autographed by Ian Gardler, who co-wrote the songs and played guitar.
