FOLLOWING THE demise of Fotheringay immaculate folk chantresse Denny set sail for a solo career debuting with this incredibly accomplished work mostly comprising self penned songs bar just two covers. The feel is expansive and confident with Denny marshalling her energy and abilities in suitably boisterous fashion crafting an album that satisfies and challenges in the same breath.

The title track for instance, burried towards the end of side two, contains one of her most poignant performances whilst 'Let's Jump The Broomstick' is up-beat and wonderfully joyous. 'Late November', fuses the aplet of Fairport with her recent Fotheringay excursion and 'Blackwaterside' harnesses the wind power of a steller vocal performance atop a solid muscular foundation suggesting that Fairport's earlier achievemnets were just a stepping stone for further advancement. 

Musical support is provided by the cream of the Brit folk rock eleite including such names as Jerry Donahue, Richard Thompson, Pat Donaldson, Gerry Conway, Trevor Lucas and Barry Dransfield. All names that ring loudly in the world of early electric folk pioneering.

A great album, for sure, and one that allows Sandy to underscore her ability and comittemnt to the cause. A true classic.

Vinyl: Clean condition. Only a few spindle marks and hardly any signs of use - just a few hairlines mainly resulting from sliding in and out of the inner sleeve. Grades as Ex+

Cover: Only minor signs of use. Issued in a delightfully illustrated thick gatefold cover. One virtually invisible ding, no bends, no edge wear, very faint ring wear,on rear panel, no creases and only light signs of use. Displays light storage wear only. Spine is square, straight, stiff and uncrushed. You will be hard pushed to find a better example - really nice copy. Grades as Ex+
