This auction is for a very nice copy of the OOP double-10" vinyl first pressing of Day Three of My New Life, the second studio album by northern California indie-rock champions Knapsack, release in early 1997 on Alias Records. The vinyl is lightly played and in NM- condition. The sleeve is EX-, showing some wear at the corners and edges, and the credits insert is fairly beat up, but included. Minimal ring wear. No seam splitting or other significant defects. All
flaws are documented as thoroughly as possible in the accompanying
photos so you know what you're bidding on and can do so with confidence.
Additional photos and/or other information gladly provided on request,
so please and ask any questions
you might have prior to placing a bid.
As a free bonus, the winner of this auction will also receive a genuine vintage flyer printed in 1993 to advertise Knapsack's first-ever live performance at the Mansion Pub in Davis, CA. Details about the bonus flyer at the bottom of this section.
Money issues are forcing me to sell off my records, and I'm pricing this one with a low reserve. It's an extra good deal with the bonus gigposter, as that that is a genuine item from 1993 that is beyond rare--I guarantee you will not find one of those anywhere else.
Please note that I'm not a dealer and these are my own records lovingly cared for over the years. Thanks for checking out my auction. Although I'm new to selling, my goal is to provide the same type of buying experience that I appreciate when buying myself.
I will also be posting an auction shortly for Knapsack's "Trainwrecker" EP on Goldenrod Records.
Shipping for this item will be the actual calculated cost of the service you select, plus $5 to cover packing it properly (a necessity when shipping expensive vinyl) and insurance.
When shipping vinyl, this is my packing process:
1. Records are removed from the outer picture sleeve and any printed inner sleeve, and placed in standard plain white sleeves (the type with die-cut label holes in the center on both sides) for travel outside the picture sleeve. (This is to prevent seam splitting in transit).
Printed inner sleeve and/or any other insert material goes back in the outer sleeve for travel.
2. Everything is then placed in a heavy-duty poly bag, and taped up securely (so that the contents will fare better in the event that the package gets wet or is exposed to weather en route).
3. The item is securely sandwiched between very sturdy 12.5"x12.5" chipboard stiffeners (these are primarily to protect the corners of the picture sleeve from damage in transit, but also make it less likely that the entire package can be bent or warped, while also adding a layer of protection against damage from sharp objects).
Satisfied buyers are more important than any individual sale, so I strive to be accurate and fair in all steps of the process: in listing and pricing an item; conducting a transaction; preparing a sold item properly for safe transit (as described above); and shipping it promptly. I try to respond to messages, questions, and concerns quickly and to communicate effectively. However, if after receiving an item from me, you feel less than satisfied for any reason, please contact me to discuss before posting negative or neutral feedback. I strive to ensure that anyone who wins one of my auctions is happy with his or her purchase, and will take any reasonable actions that necessitates.
Please check out my other auctions for more rare and collectible items. Thanks for looking and good luck!
About the free bonus gigposter print: This is an original flyer printed 21 years ago to advertise Knapsack's first show ever, which happened on June 19,1993 in Davis, CA. These were posted around Davis and in a few spots in Sacramento. I "designed" them during an allnighter at Kinkos, and other than those that were put up prior to the show, there were several dozen extras, which I've had ever since. I share the story behind them so it will make sense that they could be essentially impossible to get, yet I can offer one free with this record. And I guarantee you that you will be the only person you ever meet with a legitimate original print of one of these, with the possible exception of members of the bands that played the show. Or unless I decide to give away or sell a few of the other remaining copies. Due to its size, it will have to be folded once to fit in the mailer with your records.
Another important note about the image of the poster included here: it is not exactly the same as the one you'll receive. I didn't have an unaltered scan of one of the real flyers handy; this is from about 10 years ago when I made refrigerator magnets of this image, and added the spot colors in Photoshop to make it less boring. Other than that, though, this is the same design as the flyer you will receive. It's just that the real flyer was printed in one color (i.e. black Kinko's copy toner), no color printing. They are tabloid-sized (11"x 17"or approx 280 x 432mm). Most were printed on blue paper, but there were also some printed on white. Also, some of them have only two band names, while others list all three shown here. That's because after first batch had been printed, the band Silver pulled out of the show (and changed their name to Jupiter Sun). So a second batch was printed showing only "Maxiwagon" and "Knapsack." They are both equally rare, by which I mean nobody has a copy of either. If you have a preference for the color of paper or, for some reason, the number of band names, let me know and I'll do my best to accommodate you. If you ask me to, I will also send you one of the aforementioned refrigerator magnets (they're about 2"x3" or about 50 x 75mm) as your reward for reading this far.
