Easily one of the most exciting music movies to land this year, the soundtrack the Northern Soul: The Film reflects its attention to detail. As does the presentation; a box of fourteen picture sleeve 45"s with a hardback book full of beautiful photography, this is a must for all Northern Soul aficionados. The cuts are well curated, too. Very few big obvious numbers and all straight up stompers... From the Temptations-inspiring "If This Is Love" by The Precisions to the great duelling vocals between Larry Williams and Johnny Watson on "Too Late". A proper artefact of what's set to be a very well received movie.
