Welcome to part one of my Jamaican records auction.
This is a collection of Rare Roots, Reggae, Ska, Dub, Dance Hall
Etc...
Trojan and Studio 1
PLEASE READ
These records were acquired from a gentleman who was a DJ in
Atlanta, GA in the 70’s and early 80’s
who was a Jamaican record collector. From him, I learned that during any
musical era in Jamaica, late 50’s to the early 80’s, the recordings were done
at one of the three studios there and the stampers were cut at the same time.
Most the producers didn’t have a lot of money so they were pressed in very
small numbers. If they sold well, then more were pressed. These are either one
off pressing or first pressings.
Most of these were pressed in 100 to 300 quantities. The covers are very flimsy and some have water damage, some have split seams.. . They were made cheaply and not made to last. PLEASE SEE PHOTOS...
The labels on the records are done cheaply as well. They used whatever they had around at the time. Some of the labels look hand cut, which I assume they were as with most Jamaican record pressing.
The vinyl is in VG+ condition. I have taken them out of the sleeves and cleaned the vinyl with a proper record cleaner, dried and put back in the sleeves.
Please email me any questions that you have before bidding. If there is a problem after the auction ends, please message me before giving bad feedback and opening a case and we will work it out.
Thanks so much…
