Vinyl and cover in excellent ++ condition
Vinyl looks hardly played, with only a few faint wispy paper marks under a strong light.
THE BEATLES: "Please Please Me" LP. UK LP IN RARE STEREO ON THE YELLOW & BLACK PARLOPHONE LABEL.
1965 PRESSING, THE VERY FIRST WITH THE JUST INTRODUCED "Gramophone Co. Ltd." LABEL RIM TEXT.
As well as the "Gramophone Co. Ltd." label text replacing "Parlophone Co. Ltd.", also during 1965, EMI now made the final
adjustment to the format lettering size, on the front top corners of all their covers. This was not unique to Beatles covers,
but it is much easier to talk in terms of their albums, 'Mono' and 'Stereo' had been gradually reduced from the largest sizes.
The largest lettering is found on the 1963 "Please Please Me" and "With The Beatles" covers, the first change for the solid block lettering was in 1964, a medium size lettering was used for the mono and stereo album covers. Then in 1965 and for the rest of the 1960's, the final small lettering
size became standard, with the label text and cover changes.
any unsold and still unused earlier covers were used up first, so there were 1965 - 1966 presed Stereo records placed into the
earlier 1963 - 1964 covers, Stereo records were in very small minority.
the very first made 1965 covers, a new design and a new Patent had to be applied for. You can see that text was actually printed
freshly, not taken from an older template, the minute size of the 'Garrod & Lofthouse' credit and catalogue number is more like
the 'EJDay' credit lettering size. All the important details can be seen in close up pictures, the stunning condition cover considering the years.
