DESCRIPTION OF ITEM:
RARE Original Detroit Small "Tribe" Label/Self Released 1st.Pressing of
Harold McKinney's (Voices and Rhythms of The Creative Profile) LP
Very Hard to Come By Signed and Dated By Hal McKinney and even his Phone Number, also has the original Lyric Sheet
This album by Harold McKinney, Tribe Productions first pressing, is a rare promo of "Voices & Rhythms of the Creative Profile", the reason I call it a promo is because it was a self produced album by "Hal", leader and pianist/vocalist. The album was signed by him,"To Lucille and Harley, I certainly hope you'll like this! Hal McKinney 7/27/74 (956-8506)"! The signature and his phone number was written on the cover and then the LP was shrink wrapped by him which makes me believe that this was handed out to a recording studio or close friends to get produced on a larger scale
About Hal McKinney, he was born July 4 1928 and died June 20 2001. He was a driving force in the 40's Detroit Jazz scene and played with such greats as John Coltrane, Wes Montgomery, Marcus Belgrave, Wendel Harrison and Phil Ranelin. He also was very involved in teaching the next generation of Jazz enthusiasts at such prestigious places as Oakland University and Wayne State University. This album is now a staple in Detroit's spiritual soul jazz scene

The condition of the Vinyl is VG++-Near Mint There is a very small white "like" spot on the 1st. song that looks like to be from production and does not affect playing. Also a couple of Super light smudge marks that also looks like from production and doesn't affect playing in any way! The sound quality of this Private Pressing is nice and loud! Because of the light little marks I have not listed as Near Mint-Mint, but sounds Near Mint
The condition of the Jacket is VG++-Near Mint with a hint of age/corner at the opening of the cover (see pic.) the shrink wrap is fully intact and has no rips or any tears in it
will also combine other items for you to save on shipping
I take my time and pack very safely with all the edges of the Box fully taped with the words "fragile" and "handle with care" on the Box
SHIPS OUT WITHIN 2 TO 4 DAYS AFTER PAYMENT
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR TIME AND HAPPY BIDDING!!!
