Kailash sees Soul Jazz do what Soul Jazz does best and pull together a wonderful posthumous celebration of Popul Vuh band leader leader Florian Fricke. Loosely billed as an informal career retrospective, Kailash features sketches that lead to some krautrock classics by Popul Vuh as well as a healthy amount of unreleased improvisations and recordings from Fricke that were uncovered after his passing in 2001. Largely based around Fricke's solo piano works, the double LP retrospective is augmented by a DVD edition of the German's 1995 documentary from which Soul Jazz named the compilation! Popul Vuh fans will be all over this!
