Record Grading
M (Mint) This grade is used only in the rare instance that a record looks absolutely unplayed.
NM (Near Mint) Near perfect. At worst, a few paper rubs- nothing that would ever affect playback.
Excellent A record may have some markings. These markings will not significantly affect play.
VG+ A record with mild surface wear- some markings/very few light scratches. There may be mild surface noise, but its overall impact on the playback of the record will still be small.
VG (Very Good) A record that shows some wear from play. Surface marks and some light scratches may be seen. Still enjoyable.
G (Good) A record that has been enjoyed. Surface marks will be apparent and some scratches are possible. Luster may be lost. Surface noise will not dominate playback.
