For Sale, a double album by The Beatles. Released on 22 November 1968 and officially called 'The Beatles', this double album quickly became known as "The White Album' because of the minimalist plain white cover, designed by Richard Hamilton. In order to give it a limited edition feeling though, each cover sleeve was given a unique number to make them all  different. The album for sale here has a low number 0061202 and is an original first pressing Mono version.
The matrix numbers are; Side 1; XEX 709-1 Side 2; XEX 710-1 Side 3; XEX 711-1 Side 4; XEX 712-1.
Although Stereo was soon to replace Mono, at the time of recording in 1968, stereo was still seen as of secondary importance to Mono. Also, it is important to note that the Mono version of this album contains significant differences to the Stereo version, in 13 of the 30 tracks. The White Album therefore is the most essential Beatles Album to have in both Mono and Stereo. If you do not have one, here is a real opportunity to get an original first pressing Mono version of this iconic album.
I have played all 4 sides of the album and grade them, using Record Collector's grading system, as "GOOD to VERY GOOD".
The album cover I have graded as GOOD.
The White Album was the first Beatles album released on Apple Records and so the records have the standard dark green Apple labels. They do have the "Sold in the U.K...." statement and do not have "An EMI recording" printed on the left above the 33 1/3 text, unlike the Stereo version which does have this. The sleeves are gatefold and are top opening. This copy does not have the black inners, nor the poster or the four colour prints.
For any music lover this album presents a unique opportunity to enjoy, in glorious Mono, one of the best albums ever made!
