You could hardly accuse Jack 'Mmoths' Colleran of being prolific. Since debuting back in 2012, he's released a sum total of two EPs, both of which suggested he was capable of more. This belated debut album more than proves that theory, delivering a range of deep, dreamy, woozy and atmospheric downtempo cuts that variously draw influence from Boards of Canada, James Blake, the ambient works of Aphex Twin, and the ear-catching addictiveness of classic synth-pop. It's a formula that results in a string of evocative compositions. Check, for example, the heart-felt pianos, Terry Riley synths and hushed vocal harmonies of "Verbena", the dream-pop meets deep house shuffle of "Eva", and the tropical-influenced IDM bliss of "1709".
