DELICATE SOUND OF THUNDER
This double LP of this classic live recording is in stunning condition and is without doubt the best I have ever seen or heard. It is Mint in practically every way and is just immaculate. Any avid fan would want to have this final upgrade copy, what a find!
EQ 5009 // C-5735 A 1 II NICKZ / C-5735 B / C-XXX 5736 A 2 / C-5736 B 2 NICKZ (all four stamped, except II NICKZ / / / NICKZ written)
Visual grading
The vinyls are in absolute pristine condition. This LP is immaculate and is a final upgrade copy that any fan would love to own. Under a bright light I cannot detect any hairlines and there is no spindle wear on the labels suggesting the vinyls have been hardly played, if at all. They both retain that lovely glossy sheen of new vinyls and are visually stunning. The gatefold is also in wonderful condition and is just a shade off Mint. A fantastic package!
Play grading
I have playtested both vinyls in their entirety and the audio is absolutely stunning. There is no lead in static prior to 'Shine On...' and it then plays with amazing audio with no interference whatsoever apart from two faint clicks. Whenever I hear this LP I am always struck by how much depth there is to it, the sound quality comes through so well with vinyls that have been well cared for and this one is no exception. The whole side plays with stunning clarity and depth of sound that cannot be beaten. Approaching nearly 30 years old it is incredible to hear such quality with almost no static/background noise at all.
Again there is no lead in static on Side Two and the audio quality continues as per Side One. I very rarely grade as Mint but this is as near as you get. The side plays with a great depth and richness of sound. All quiet sections play perfectly with no static, no interference at all. The intro to 'On The Turning Away' is absolutely stunning, I have never heard better. It is simply breathtaking!
Sides Three and Four have the same standard of audio and there is no need to describe in detail (as I often do!) just how good they sound. I will just say the audio is once again sublime and plays with a depth and quality that I honestly believe could not be beaten. They look immaculate and they sound immaculate.
Gatefold cover
This gatefold has been kept in supremely good condition and has obviously been barely handled. The edges and wide spine are in superb order with no shelf wear. The only downside is a tiny area of wear on the top corner that can probably be seen in the photos. Other than that the cover is nigh on perfect and is the best I have ever seen. The opening edges also have no handling wear . This cover retains that glossy lustre as when it was first purchased all those years ago. The inside of the gatefold is in immaculate condition, the whole cover is just amazingly good!
Picture sleeves
The picture sleeves are in fantastic condition with no wear, as good as new and can easily be graded as Mint. Very rare for an LP nearly 30 years old!
Labels
The labels are in perfect condition.
