True 1st MONO pressing of "MEET THE BEATLES". The record's labels have no BMI or ASCAP publishing information after the songs. This version is very rare! See my photos.
This copy is Spizer version CAP
2047.MR1A. Record and the cover are in VG (Very
Good) condition using the
grading standards of the Cox/Daniels "Price Guide For The Beatles
American Records" (6th edition). The 2nd and 3rd pressings of this LP (both are very commonly found on Ebay and elsewhere) have 1 and 3 BMI songs listed on the labels respectively... this 1st pressing has no BMI or ASCAP listed on the labels as Capitol was in a rush to get the record out and didn't wait for publishing info to arrive from EMI in England.
Some minor scratches and blemishes exist on the LP but the record plays fine with no skips. A great piece of rock n' roll history and this copy was pressed and released BEFORE Beatle-mania really started in the USA!
Standard Capitol Records black labels with rainbow
perimeter and no
"Subsidiary..." print. This is an east coast (Scranton, PA) Capitol
original
pressing (#2 printed with the RIAA logo on the rear). The cover's bottom seam has some wear. The cover's front has some light wear but no ring wear. Pretty good for 52 years.
The album will be shipped in a
rigid cardboard mailer for protection. Payment is due within 3 days of the end of the auction. Good luck!
