Given his recent foray into the world of epic, undulating ambience - see the fine Principe Del Norte full-length on Smalltown Supersound - we can't think of anyone better than Prins Thomas to remix Alex Paterson and Thomas Fehlmann's "Alpine" single. The eccentric Norwegian goes in hard on the A-side, delivering a near 12-minute "Diskomiks" that effortlessly joins the dots between The Orb's meandering ambience and his own particular brand of loose, percussive Scandolearic disco. Flip to the B-side for the "Simpler Tool For DJ Fools" - seven minutes of rolling grooves, classic ambient house bass and fluid electronics - and the blissful, mountaintop ambience of the "Short Yoga Break version".
