Rare & Scarce Progressive Rock Album Highly Collectable!

Another from my personal collection of over 50,000 UK albums that I have accumulated over a period of more than 45 years. Here is the earliest possible 1st UK pressing of Spooky Tooth Debut album incredibly over 46 years old and so collectable like this. Very rarely turns up for sale. The first issued Ipink Island labels are lovely and amazingly I find it hard to see a spider mark at all, if there are, they are very feint indeed. There is no wear around the spindle hole at all. Please note! This is listed for its rarety and collectability rather than for its condition! This vinyl is the original thick and chunky slab of vinyl only found like this on the earliest pressings. The playing surface is lovely and shinny and displays very few surface marks, perhaps the odd small scratch but nothing too deep that would cause too much problems in my opinion. The audio is very clean and bright with minimal interference in the form of light scuff noise at the intro to side one and light isolated static ticks heard and minor  isolated static type crackle only. Just listen to the actual clarity of the main audio it's absolutely stunning throughout!  I would grade the audio at least excellent to excellent plus for the most part in my opinion. The 1st issue E.J.Day & co cover has some general wear and tear with a split at the spine worth to mention. Read the full descriptions below.

Hear the complete album in the player below (Actual recording from the vinyl)

Spooky Tooth was an English rock band principally active, with intermittent breakups, between 1967 and 1974. In recent years, the band has been reconstituted at various points, and continues to perform occasionally.

Crucial to their sound was their instrumentation; they were one of the relatively few rock acts of the time to adopt the twin keyboard approach (both an organ and a piano player).

They formed in October 1967, when Gary Wright joined the band Art. The band name Art only existed from April to October 1967. Art was renamed from The V.I.P.'s, as the name fitted better to the new musical direction taken on the album Supernatural Fairy Tales. Gary Wright held a significant role from the start. He wrote the majority of the first Spooky Tooth album, some even with record producer Jimmy Miller instead of band members.

The line-up changed several times, but typically was -
Mike Harrison (born Michael Harrison, 3 September 1945, Carlisle, Cumbria) (keyboards/vocals)
Greg Ridley (born Alfred Gregory Ridley, 23 October 1947, Aspatria, Cumbria — died 19 November 2003, in Alicante, Spain) (bass guitar/vocals)
Luther (Luke) Grosvenor (born Luther James Grosvenor, 23 December 1946, Evesham, Worcestershire) (guitar/vocals)
Mike Kellie, (born Michael Alexander Kellie, 24 March 1947, Birmingham, Warwickshire) (drums)
Gary Wright, (born Gary Malcolm Wright, 26 April 1943, Cresskill, New Jersey, U.S.) (organ/vocals)
Gary Wright was introduced to the members of Art by Chris Blackwell, founder of Island Records.

It's All About is the 1968 debut album of British band Spooky Tooth. The album was originally released in England by Island Records.
In West Germany the record was released by Fontana. The American version of the album, entitled Spooky Tooth, was originally released on Bell in 1968. It was reissued in 1971 as Tobacco Road.

The Matrix

Side 2 "ILP-ST-B" (Hand etched crossed out/corrected matrix)

The Vinyl
This is the original 1968 thick heavy slab of vinyl only found like this on the earliest pressings. On initial inspection the vinyl looks lovely and it is hard for me to see any marks. When looked at hard in strong light only I can just see very small surface marks/scratches to mention only any other marks that could possibly be seen would be sleeve removal only. The vinyl lays flat on the turntable and is free of any warps. All indications are that this vinyl has had very minimal play only in my opinion.

The Audio
I have played this through two times at loud volume on a top system prior to this listing. The audio is clear and very vibrant throughout with just very light isolated background static/ ticks to mention in very few isolated places only. Noted at the intro to the first track on side 1, there is a couple of light ticks and a scuff type noise. Light isolated background static/crackle heard. Over all a very playable and enjoyable copy. Audio is graded at least excellent. Don't take my word for it, listen to the complete album in the player above. (Actual recording from the vinyl)

The labels
These are the original and earliest 1st issued pink Island rough textured eyeball labels (Only 1st press) The amazing thing is that I struggle to see any spidering at all and the spidle hole is free from any wear indicating that this vinyl has only had minimal play in my opinion. The labels are lovely and clean.

The record Sleeve
This is the poly lined sleeve becoming fragile with age. No splits or tears light browning staining with age. Please note , that the vinyl is now always stored separately from the vinyl.

The Cover
This is the first issue fully laminated E.Day & co Ltd cover. The laminate is super glossy. Note, There is an edge split at the spine caused over the years from the vinyl.  creases with age are noted. Overall this is strong and straight.
