The composite word 'pop-punk' might be enough to strike fear into the heart of many a punter, yet rest assured that PWR BTTM, despite being loosely that, are one of the most refreshing and irreverent troupes in any genre distinction to have emerged in the last decade, and far removed from the Fat Wreck/Epitaph axis. An explicitly queer take on a glam-tinged and raucous sound, 'Pageant' builds on the promise of their debut, striking a balance between sincerity and sarcasm whilst dealing out chorus as maddeningly catchy as they are engagingly camp. Ignore the glitter-tinged gung-ho attack of PWR BTTM at your peril.
