Shugo Tokumaru—Toss—Color LP Vinyl Record—
For fans of Elliott Smith, Kishi Bashi, Deerhoof, Dirty Projectors, Lullatone
File under beautiful and artful folk pop in Japanese (this time around)
Shugo
Tokumaru began recording his sweet and eccentric lo-fi indie pop songs -- songs
that nod to artists like Plamo, Lullatone, amd PWRFL Power—in the early 2000s.
He recorded a ten-track demo CD-R, Fragment, in 2003. The album was never
officially released, but it did manage to grab the attention of the U.S. label
Music Related, which released Tokumaru's second full-length, Night Piece, in
2004. Tokumaru went on to release a couple more albums over the course of the
next few years L.S.T. followed in 2005
and Exit was released in Japan in 2007. The latter was re-released on the U.S.
label Almost Gold in 2008. For 2010's Port Entropy, Tokumaru adopted a slightly
more polished, but still playful, approach. Port Entropy was also his first
album to enter the Oricon Top 40 chart in his native Japan. While making his
third album, In Fous, Tokumaru spent hours layering hundreds of sounds into
intricate collages that were mastered at Abbey Road studios. The results were
released in Japan in late 2012 and in the rest of the world in early 2013.

PACKING AND SHIPPING
See my feedback when it comes to shipping and packaging! All of my records come in NEW vinyl mailer boxers (well, sometimes I recycle the really good, expensive mailers) Many records come wrapped in bubble wrap with cardboard sleeves on the outside and again wrapped with extra shrink—that's to keep the loses tight so the seams don't split When applicable, I reinforce the record mailer with extra cardboard “planks” around the corner edges of each side. Each box is clearly labeled “FRAGILE” and includes a professional sticker stating so. I have a few other undisclosed secrets I use to get the package to you safe and sound. In 15 years, I have had only two records damaged after leaving my store. FINALLY, your purchase is going to a great cause! To help me launch my own independent record label; NIN9VOLT Records that will soon release its first record of a really cool, well known indie artist that is going to have everyone saying, “Hell yeah, it’s about time that was pressed on vinyl!” (It was only released on CD a few years ago, and I am excited. [understatement]) I will never give my money to Planned Parenthood. So, thanks for looking and if you read all of this, God bless you.
