Jazz 1U/1U (1st pressing with Poster)

This first pressing plays with stunning audio and includes the infamous poster.  As can be seen there are "G" stampers on each side making this a very early first pressing.

 Visual grading

  Both sides are extremely clean with only a very small number of very faint hairlines caused by sleeve removal and there are no scratches.  It has been hardly played as there is one wispy spindle line on S1 and only slightly more on S2.  A lovely example of a genuine first pressing.

Play grading

With no lead in static on S1 'Mustapha' then plays with audio that can only be graded as Mint such is the clarity of the sound.  This quality continues throughout the side with no intrusive interference whatsoever.  The audio plays with absolute perfection and with only a minimal number of mega light dust ticks.  A little static on the 'Jealousy' fade out but that is the only negative if you can call it that.  The warmth and depth of the sound is stunning and 'If You Can't Beat Them' is an excellent example of this.  So often this track plays with distortion but here there is none and the same can be said for 'Let Me Entertain You' also.

S2 plays in very similar fashion.  There is one click in the dead wax prior to 'In Only Seven Days' starting and some static on the fade out.  The remainder of the side plays with near perfection, rarely do you hear such incredible quality on a 1U/1U pressing.  There is perhaps just a little more intermittent static on this side but it in no way detracts from the wonderful quality on offer.

Gatefold Cover

This cover with the embossed 'Jazz' logo is in excellent condition with only minor shelf wear.  The edges are very clean with hardly any rubbing and the spine only has a few very small rub marks near the top.  The only obvious area of wear is on the two right corners where there is a little more rubbing.  Aside from that it is in great shape and it is rare to see the front and back covers looking so clean and free of marking.  The inside is also in immaculate condition as is the opening edge.  Overall this is a wonderful example of this iconic gatefold.

Whilst the poster is not attached to the gatefold it does remain in perfect Mint condition.

Picture inner

The heavy duty card picture inner with the rounded corners is very clean with only minor rubbing on the two side edges and a very small split at the bottom.

The labels

They are both very clean with no marking or writing and only a minimal amount of spindle wear.  In fact S1 only has one faint spindle trace.
