Greatest Hits I A3/B3

This mega early pressing plays with immaculate audio and is quite possibly the best I have ever heard.  There is no interference of any note.  No spindle wear so has perhaps never been played.  Stunning.

Visual grading

S1 is in immaculate condition with only one small faint mark and a couple of very faint hairlines that are incredibly difficult to spot.  S2 does have one long very faint hairline but rest assured it has no affect on the fantastic audio as described below.  Aside from that S2 is extremely clean with only a couple of other fine hairlines.  There are no scratches on either side and it retains a lovely glossy sheen even after all these years.  It has been hardly played, if at all, as there is no spindle wear whatsoever and there the run out grooves and labels are also spotlessly clean as if it has never been handled.

Play grading  

'Bohemian Rhapsody' begins with superlative audio.  In fact it is absolutely stunning!  For such an early pressing to play so cleanly is a mega rarity and there is not even any static on the first few grooves that you so often find.  This classic is Mint- easily and the only 'background' is a minor hint of static only on the quiet end section.  The quality does not decrease and every track has audio off the highest standard.  I could not believe my ears during the playback!  With near complete silence in the dead wax between every track it is just so rare for a GH1 to play with such astounding quality.  Even the quiet intro on the final track 'Save Me' plays with perfect precision.

S2 continues in the same fashion and has the wow factor again!  There is no static or crackle and no clicks or pops at all.  How often can you can say that with such an early pressing especially when they were generally played to death?!  The clarity and depth of each track is just incredible and even the quieter sections play with impeccable quality.  One thing worth mentioning perhaps is that 'We Are The Champions' plays with a little distortion but any Queen fan will say the same.  This is a common pressing 'error' where the grooves were pressed closer together so as to 'fit' the song on which can cause some deterioration in the sound quality.  Don't get me wrong though it still plays superbly well here.

In summary this is one of the 'cleanest' high end GH1 I have ever heard.  The clarity and precision of each track is second to none and the fact that there is just no obvious 'background' is an incredible rarity on such an early pressing.

Cover

The cover remains in excellent condition with only very minor shelf wear.  The edges have a minimal amount of rubbing and the thin spine is in great shape with minor corner wear only.  The opening edge has no handling wear and only the bottom corner has a little pinching.  The front and back cover are extremely clean with only a couple of tiny specks on the former.  A few minor creases around the edges but to all intents and purposes this is one the cleanest GH1 covers you will find today.

The original thick card inner with rounded corners is is in near perfect condition with no splits or creasing and only a 3/4 small print smudge type marks.

They are as new with no markings or writing and no spindle wear at all.
