JETHRO TULL A SONG FOR JEFFREY B/W ONE FOR JOHN GEE 1st PRESSING ISLAND PINK LABEL (UK) WIP 6043 released 1968  Matrix A1 / B1 This has been played but remains in excellent condition. This is the debut single from Tull, released at the time they had a residency at the Marquee Club in Wardour Street, Soho in London - hence the B side dedicated to John Gee, the owner of the Marquee. The rest, as they say, is history. This though, for me, is the band at the absolute best with Mick Abrahams providing that jazzy blues guitar work that made them. A dirtier looking band I have yet to see - but they were incredible live in these early days - before Ian Anderson's showbiz image took over. This is a rare disc.
