I package records outside the cover to avoid seam splits.

New and vintage vinyl is hard to grade strictly using eBay’s system because the record and the cover are two different components. Therefore, I call a record new and mint if it is opened but has never been played.  I use the grading category to describe the cover condition. This Double LP is a First Pressing that has never been played. It has the '360 Sound', 2 eye Columbia label. The paper on board cover has tight seams, a stiff spine and shows slight storage ring wear. The inner sleeves have Columbia catalog photos. This is a one-owner that the Seller got new in his record store in 1969. It has been in storage for 49 years. Wow! That's a long time.
