Visual grading

This vinyl has been well played judging by the spindle wear but visually is very clean.  There are a number of fine hairlines, 3 or 4 longer ones on S1, but aside from that it is in pretty good order.  S2 is very clean and whilst the needle sticks on the track one intro it is not obvious what is causing it.  I cannot see a scratch so maybe it is a pressing fault.
Play grading

'Mothers Little Helper' begins S1 with excellent sound quality and very little 'background'.  'Stupid Girl' plays very clearly but there was one swish type sound and one louder crackle sound that both last for a millisecond.  The classic 'Lady Jane' has 5 clicks near the start, a couple in the middle and one louder one towards the end.  By no means perfect but it remains an acceptable listen with no skips or jumps and just some light crackle in the background.  The remaining tracks play very clearly with no other clicks or pops just light crackle in the background. The bluesy 'Goin' Home' on the whole plays very well but yes there is some ubiquitous crackle in the background although not loud.  It could be said it adds to the vinyl atmosphere :-)
S2 begins with some heavy crackle sadly and the needle does stick right at the start of 'Flight 505' so you have to manually move it.  Thereafter the track actually plays very well with only a minor amount of 'background'.  The other tracks play very well with only light crackle in the background here and there.  There are many sections that play as Ex if not better and 'I Am Waiting' is a good example of that.  For a track with many quiet sections it has excellent clarity and hardly any background.  The final three tracks have no clicks or pops, just light 'background' and minor distortion on 'What To Do'.
The Cover
The laminated 'Clarifoil' cover by 'Robert Stace' is in wonderful condition for it age.  The edges and thin pinched spine are in superb shape with only a couple of minor rubs and even the corners have barely any shelf wear.  The laminate has stood the test of the time very well and has only one obvious crease next to the Decca logo.  There are no splits anywhere.  The opening edge has minimal handling wear and is very clean indeed.  The back cover is in excellent shape with only minor ringwear and a couple of very faint marks and no writing.  Quite impressive for 50+ years old!
Inner sleeve
The poly-lined inner sleeve has a fair amount of creasing and a small split from the top corner on the right side but there is no marking.
The labels
This early pressing has the third known label variation and they are both very clean with writing or marking at all.  However, there is plenty of spindle wear.  The KT tax code is stamped on both run out grooves.
