This is the first pressing and a rare Mis-Press of the seminal 1968 Beatles self-titled mono LP (PMC 7067/8) which omits the 'An EMI Recording' wording on the top left of the record label (see photos). EMI corrected this on the second and subsequent pressings.
The top loading double LP comes complete with the large poster (very good condition with some slight creasing and discolouration - see photos) and 4 photo prints, all in Excellent condition.
The matrix on each side has the -1 prefix indicating the first pressing (matrix number for side1 is XEX 709-1 for example). The vinyl has obviously been lovingly played and displays surface marks which are largely superficial.
The records have been test played on a Project Mark 2 record player using an Ortofon stylus and it is graded as Very Good and retains its original sheen. Apart from occasional pops and crackles, it plays really well with just one slight jump on Helter Skelter and Glass Onion.
There are some spider marks on the spindles, otherwise the labels are in very good condition.
The vinyl is housed in the original black sleeves which display some partial splits. The white gatefold sleeve (number 0107121) is in very good condition with some scuffing to sides and corners and some discolouration inside and evidence of some ringwear (see photos).
This is an excellent opportunity to acquire what many consider to be the Beatles magnum opus in its original first pressing state, with mis-pressing, and complete with all photos and poster. Happy bidding.
