ARTIFICIAL SELECTION
Color Vinyl LP Record
NEW
FOR FANS OF Taking back Sunday, Thursday, Coheed and Cambria, The Mars Volta Clear Purple Smoke (only 1000 pressed)
Billed as their "strongest and most wondrously diverse showcase yet", Artificial Selection
once again finds vocalists Tilian Pearson and co-founder Jon Mess
counterbalancing each other well with their raspy vulnerability and
guttural outrage, respectively. Likewise, self-imposed allusions to
Thursday, Taking Back Sunday, Coheed and Cambria, and The Mars Volta
remain apt (although TMV precursor At the Drive-In might be a more
fitting connection). In addition to the main line-up—which is completed
by guitarist Will Swan, bassist Tim Feerick, and percussionist Matthew
Mingus—the LP features several guest guitarists (including Zachary
Garren of Strawberry Girls and Martin Bianchini of SECRETBAND), as well
as flutist Jessica Esposito and former singer Kurt Travis. Together,
they ensure that Artificial Selection is effectively vivacious, layered, and riveting from start to finish. _______________________________________________________________________
PACKING VINYL THE CORRECT WAY—I package each record to avoid bent corners and seam splits. Here’s how:
* All records are packaged in new vinyl mailer boxes and assembled using a variation of bubble wrap, shrink and cardboard flats.
* ALL records are put inside a 2-3 mm clear sleeve. (I use the soft sleeves, not the ones that sound like you’re opening a bag of Doritos when you work with them.)
* If the record is used or open, the vinyl and its inner sleeve will always be shipped outside the jacket but inside the same clear sleeve.
* I reinforce the corners of each box mailer (no matter what size it is) by using cardboard “planks” secured to each corner around the edge to prevent damage when tossed around in the mail. This makes a difference.
