New York City based enfant terrible Nicolas Jaar composed an alternate soundtrack to Sergei Parajanov's 1969 avant-garde Soviet film The Colour Of Pomegranates back in 2015 for free download, but it is now available as a deluxe vinyl edition via the London based Mana imprint. It is longer and slower than his other albums, featuring a poetic narrative with strange and beautiful sonic qualities. The Pomegranates LP is a captivating collection of songs incorporating elements of classical music, avant-garde and field recordings and is free of genre boundaries.
