It's been five years since Aussie indie-dance three piece Rufus raced to the top of the Australian album charts with their critically acclaimed debut album, Atlas. Here the album gets a fifth-anniversary vinyl repress. The track list remains the same, allowing newcomers a chance to bask in the riff-heavy, dewy-eyed bounce of "Sundream", the Balearic synth-pop cheeriness of "Tonight" and the slowly building, piano-laden shuffle of album standout "Rendezvous". Elsewhere, the heartfelt, deep synth-pop dreaminess of "Desert Night" and sun-bright rush of "Simplicity is Bliss" are also worth checking. In other words, it's a dreamy, melodious and attractive collection of electronic pop songs informed by nu-disco and soft focus house.
