Well I'm finally back with a record! Luckily I'll have a few more. And first up is a treasure. The classic, and a true staple of jazz -- if not THE staple of jazz.
The album is in very respectable VG condition -- bordering on VG+, but has just enough imperfections for a VG. The cover is quite solid, so it's a great playing copy for collectors and casual listeners -- but not for the very critical listener.
Last three characters of the runout stamp are 1AJ. "Adderly" spelling on cover, and no "CBS" on the arrow label. I believe it may be a later-ish first press, because of the side 2 track listing.
More below:

____________________________________________________________________
Vinyl: VG (6.7 of 10): Good lustre. Radial imperfections from what looks like the pressing plant. Some very light surface rubbing, and a small handful of what you can tell are needle accidents. Nothing too far below the surface, and audio quality with crackle at very low levels. Overall quite an enjoyable copy -- probably the best stereo copy I've come across, but by no means perfect. In the photos I tried to capture imperfections, so look critically!

Cover: VG+ (7.5 of 10): Cover is solid. Decent gloss, but you can tell it has age behind it and shelf wear. Theres shelf wear on the bottom seam, but no splits anywhere, and the spine is quite solid. Overall a very nicely preserved cover. _____________________________________________________________________

Regarding Grading: I always use the standard G-VG+ scale. I, however, absolutely never use the word "mint" because I don't believe I've ever found a mint record -- even sealed ones. The highest I go is VG+. I use a number system to get a bit more specific.

The number: my number system gets a bit more granular. For the record, it's meant to reflect more the audio quality and overall aesthetic. For the cover, it reflects overall preservation, gloss, and damage, if there is any.
A few notes about quality, purchasing, and shipping:
* I always vacuum clean my records. They've all gone through a three step solution process with a vacuum cleaning machine I built.

** All records are shipped in record boxes.

*** All records are shipped with a plastic sleeve, and the records will be shipped OUTSIDE the cover.

Shipping is a standard $4 domestic, and by weight international ... so CHECK YOU INTERNATIONAL PEOPLE. Shipping is expensive these days -- don't shoot the messenger.

Other than that, I always start my records off at $4.99, and let the market tell me what they're worth. Happy hunting!
