For Auction - WMPS Radio Station (Memphis) "Jingles" transcription/promotional record on HSG 2453. This is a 12-inch 33 1/3 RPM record being sold for display/collection purposes. These type of records were used by radio stations back in the early 50's to promote various items, and new models or features of various products. "This particular record promoted WMPS radio station with various "jingles" (great music, news highlights, DJ shows, etc.). Some of the jingles mention The Jack Gallo Show, Bob Sanders "All Night Serenade", etc. Looking at the label, it appears DJ Hugh was to use jingles 1 & 2, DJ Don was to use jingles 3-6, etc. More than likely, Elvis heard a few of these jingles in his early music days. The record does play, sounds fair to good and visually grades VG. It does have some scratches. Please see pics for record label condition and other details for this early 50's double-sided advertising/promotional record. To be provided in a generic white paper sleeve. Please see my other transcription/promotional records I have listed.
