You are bidding on The Clash London Calling LP (36329) released by Epic in 1979. This is one of the best albums ever made by one of the vanguards of punk rock. If you don't own it, then your record collection has a hole that needs to be filled. This double LP is an absolute gift.
Condition: I'm grading on the record only as photos indicate condition of sleeve (which in this case has some good staining). The LP's have great appearance and barely any wear and I would rate them at EX to VG+ based on the vinyl grading system below (which is relatively standard).
Vinyl Grading System Mint (M) – Absolutely perfect in every way. Never been played and usually sealed. Near Mint (NM) – The record has been on a shelf between other records. The vinyl looks glossy and clearly has only beenplayed a few times. There are no marks on the vinyl and the whole package is complete. Excellent (E) – Same but I’d tolerate very light marks where the vinyl has been in and out of the inner sleeve a few times, or tiny signs of use generally. Very Good Plus (VG+) – A few further faults are acceptable, but nothing that really compromises the record visually or audibly. A little rub, light inaudible marks, a little background crackle. Very Good (VG) – It’s seen a bit of life, but is still usable. Light pops and clicks, an edge split, light visible scratches. You can still listen to it and enjoy looking at it, but it is visually and audibly USED. Good (G) – To be honest you’re making trouble for yourself here, as Good means Bad. I’d only be selling something really desirable in this condition, with a bargain price and a full, no holds barred description to match. Poor (P), Fair (F) Attempting to listen will be a disturbing experience. Expect major noise issues, skipping or repeating. The record itself is cracked, badly warped and has deep scratches. The cover is also approaching death.
I use the US Postal Service and use priority mail to ensure quick delivery although size/weight can often be a deterrent due to a balloon fee on boxes over a certain size. Shipping costs are based on weight distance from my home in Fairhaven, MA. In simplest terms, I ship priority mail unless it is a book (then I ship using media mail) or if the item is bigger than a breadbox or heavier than 5 lbs (unless I can fit it in a flat rate box).
I've been selling on Ebay since 1998 but this is not a full time job. I'm happy to answer all questions but please be aware that these questions are normally answered after I have returned home from work. International shipping has increased considerably so if shipping costs are a concern, please contact me and I will provide a quote. I do not end auctions early so no questions are necessary. I encourage you to look at my other auctions for a wide variety of items. I often sell glass, pottery, books, art, and other unsual items one may find at yard sales and estate sales. Best of luck in your bidding and thanks for your time looking at my auction.
