Na Cambanca was the debut album from Guine Bissau band Super Mama DJombo back in 1980. By then, the band had already been together 20 years and had grown immensely popular in their homeland. They had a politically savvy band leader in Adriano Atchutchi and went on to play at President Luis Cabral's public speeches soon after the country gained independence in 1974. Their unique brand of African rock defines this album, which is a much sought after treasure on second hand websites that is long overdue a reissue. The most well-known track is "Pamparida" which was based on a children's song and became a huge hit throughout West Africa.
